In honor of Mental Health Month, I wanted to share my CBD Infused Golden Milk recipe, one of my favorite things after a stressful day. As someone who deals with self doubt and anxiety, I’ve spent many nights struggling to fall asleep because my mind is going 100 miles per hour, worrying about things I can’t control. According to “The Gut Brain Connection”, emotions like anxiety, stress, and depression start in the stomach (gut). Essentially, what we eat affects our brain, the way we feel, and our overall outlook on life. The amazing ingredients in a warm cup of Golden Milk, help your mind relax, while promoting a healthy gut, and indulging your taste buds.

What’s In The Tonic?


The active ingredient in Turmeric called curcumin, is responsible for many of the incredibly theraputic benefits of turmeric; including its anti-inflammatory, pain relieving, mood-boosting, digestive-healing, liver-protecting, and hormone-balancing effects.

Almond Milk/Coconut Milk

I personally like to use a mixture of canned coconut milk and almond milk for a creamy consistency but any type of milk works. Coconut milk is a great prebiotic which contributes to a healthy gut. Coconut milk also provides healthy fats and electrolytes, supports heart health, helps with fat loss and muscle gain, and more

Black Pepper

Black pepper contains the compound, piperine, which inhibits the breakdown of turmeric compounds in the gut and liver. This allows higher levels of turmeric compounds to remain in the body which may increases the amazing benefits of turmeric

Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil works to enhance our immune function and protect the liver from toxins. As a healthy fat, it helps your body digest and absorb turmeric.

Cinnamon is one of the most delicious and healthiest spices on the planet. It can lower blood sugar levels, reduce heart disease risk and other impressive health benefits.


On top of being a powerful digestive aid, Ginger also contains Curcumin, which is a powerful herbal brain supplement used to treat depression, anxiety, brain aging, and neurodegenerative diseases.


Golden Milk via

For a single serving of golden milk , you'll need:

  • 1 & ½ cup of milk of your choice

  • 1 tsp of turmeric

  • 1 small piece of fresh ginger or 1/2 tsp of ginger powder

  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon powder

  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper

  • 1 tsp of honey or maple syrup (optional)

  • 1 tsp coconut oil

  • .50ml CBD OIL (optional)


To make the golden milk, simply mix all ingredients (except CBD) in a small saucepan or pot and bring to a light boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes or until fragrant. Add CBD and stir. Pour drink into a mug, top with a pinch of cinnamon, and enjoy :)

Final Thoughts

I started drinking Golden Milk to relieve joint pain from tendonitis and quickly fell in love with the taste and calm feeling I get after each glass. Once you’ve tried my CBD infused recipe, you’ll notice the way it settles your mind and body at the end of the day, allowing you to let go of the day’s worries as you drift off to sleep.
