Things To Inspire Your Mind Body Soul - Weekly Round Up

Updated: Aug 1, 2022

Hi friend,

Hope you're well and in good spirits, if not I hope something in this post will help you feel better ❤️ This is the first installment of a weekly round up of things I find inspiring, which have positively changed my perspective on life. I'm on a lifelong self love, self-care, self improvement journey and I want us all to grow together. These tools are here to keep us balanced, calm, and at peace, so we can continue to honor ourselves and live our best lives.

1. "Let Fear Be Your Fuel " - https://youtu.be/v19rDdIh_kY

A motivational speech from one of my favorite speakers, Lisa Nichols. I hope it empowers you to continue working on those ideas you may be unsure of, due to fear of the unknown outcome. The world needs whatever you have to offer, trust yourself!

2. A Simple Meditation - https://youtu.be/FGO8IWiusJo

Starting my day with prayer and a quick meditation gives me a positive attitude, eases anxious feelings, and helps me calmly handle any inconveniences throughout the day. I’ve learned the key to getting the most out of a guided meditation is to breathe at your own pace. Follow along to the instructor when it feels right, but pay attention to how your body is feeling, and what you need in the moment to feel calm. Meditation is a spiritual practice that is unique to every individual body and the ultimate goal is to still the mind through calming breath work. I challenge you to meditate every day this week for at least 10 minutes and see how light you feel throughout each day.

3. "You are always in the right place, at the right time" - Wayne Dyer

My dad sent me this Wayne Dyer speech around my birthday this year, per usual I was experiencing the existential bday blues, and having thoughts about my next moves/getting older, so this video came right on time. It's about tapping into your inner knowing and understanding our purpose lies in our unique stories. My favorite lines include "You are always in the right place, at the right time" and “With everything that has happened to you, you can either feel sorry for yourself or treat what has happened as a gift. Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose.

.. Get into Wayne Dyer, you will not regret it!

4. Word to embody this week: Equanimity

Sometimes I think myself into a bad mood, making up negative scenarios. First thing this morning, I read the article " How to Master Your Thoughts So They Don't Control Your Life" and it reintroduced me to the word Equanimity, which is now one of my spiritual goals. The article also reminded me of themes I've learned, through my meditation teacher training and spiritual books. For example we don't have to go down the mental rabbit hole with each thought, we can let our thoughts come and go and choose which thoughts/feelings we follow. Think of your mind as a busy street and you're on the sidewalk watching traffic. Each car that passes symbolize your thoughts. We can't acknowledge all "cars" but we can choose the cars we follow, and let the others pass us by. Somedays it's easy to shrug things off and choose positive thoughts, other days it's harder. Any day you show yourself grace through patience, compassion, and self care is a good day.

5. Sunrise Yoga Routine - https://youtu.be/r7xsYgTeM2Q

On days when I wake up feeling heavy and anxious, yet sluggish and unmotivated, I turn to movement like Yoga. It's a great way to energize the body, while calming the mind. I love Yoga with Adrienne and the good vibes she radiates, like ending this video with the words "be yourself, be kind to yourself, and treat others the same way."

6. Song Recommendation: New House- Toro y Moi

A classic motivational bop to listen to while you manifest abundance for the new year. I just moved into my second apartment here in LA, walking distance from the beach, which is what I wrote in my journal earlier this year. Lately I've been feeling like I can have whatever I want I just have to think it, write it down, and figure out how to make it happen. Simple as that.

Thanks for reading. Wishing you a week filled with peace & good vibes :)

Warmly,
