Gut Healing, Mood Boosting, Clear Skin, Immunity Glow Juice Recipe

Summer is officially here and It's been fun dining out and indulging in delicious dishes across Los Angeles. From churros to fried seafood to pizza and every type of edible on the market, I've been on a food tour of “treating myself.”

I consider myself an intuitive eater and don't like to limit my diet or make myself feel shame over food choices. Instead, I listen to what my body needs, and I feel like I was eating too much fried/processed foods. My recent habits had my skin angry, and inflamed. My stomach was bloated, I felt sluggish, so I looked in my kitchen and whipped up this “ Glow Juice”.

Juicing is a quick way to get your body back on track, along with eating less fried, processed take out and more plant based, whole foods. I always feel more energized after a few days of consistently juicing and eating at home. Ultimately, juicing helps detoxify your body from those unhealthy stressors and gets it back to it's happy place.

Benefits of the Glow Juice Ingredients:

Celery heals and activates the gut by restoring hydrochloric acid, which helps us digest things faster and more efficiently. Celery juice helps raise stomach acid, which is necessary to help break down food.

Carrot contains vitamin A which fights acne, wrinkles, pigmentation and uneven skin tone. They also support a healthy gut, which lowers the risk of illness.

Ginger is best known for easing stomach discomfort and regulating the digestive tract. Ginger is loaded with antioxidants, which prevent stress and damage to your body's DNA. Its been proven to help the body fight off chronic diseases like high blood pressure, heart disease, and diseases of the lungs, plus promotes healthy aging.

Cucumber is about 90% water and contains minerals like potassium and magnesium, which help maintain your body's fluid balance. Due to the increased hydration, Cucumbers may help clear up skin, reduce blood pressure, and promote regular bowel movements.

Apple’s are always a good source of fiber. Eating fiber improves memory and overall mood. It also decreases overall inflammation, strengthening your body against bacteria and viruses, which we all could use right now.

Thanks to the Apple, Carrot and Ginger, this juice is not only healthy, but also pretty tasty (to me lol). The recipe will make enough for 24 oz of Juice about 3 cups. I drink about 12 oz a day, and the juice lasts about 1 day in the fridge, so I make a new batch every 2 days.



-3 Carrots

-1 Cucumber

-Thumb Piece of Ginger

-2 Apples (Any type)

-3 Stalks of Celery

Things You’ll Need:

  • Juicer or Blender (if using a blender add water + Strain)

  • Large Glass Container


-Thoroughly rinse all fruits/veggies

- Largely chop all ingredients. I usually leave the skin on everything for more fiber and peel the ginger. Totally optional.

-Juice and enjoy :)

Gut and Mental Health Connection

I call this my Gut healing, Skin Clearing, Mood Boosting, Immunity Glow Juice because when your Gut is functioning properly your skin tends to be clearer, your immune system is fired up, and studies report an overall better mood. According to a recent Harvard study , “A troubled intestine can send signals to the brain, just as a troubled brain can send signals to the gut. Therefore, a person's stomach or intestinal distress can be the cause or the product of anxiety, stress, or depression.”, meaning a healthy gut = a Happier you and vice versa. We could all use some good vibes right now and what better way than through our food!
